In case you’re interested…
“I am the Casting Director for an original documentary on a major women’s cable network about everyday life as a Mom in the city living on the Upper East side. I am searching for ultra energetic moms who have chosen the unique lifestyle of having and raising their child in the city and affording them all the opportunities that come along with it and will stop at nothing to give their kids the world.
Moms whose philosophy is, “Life only got better and more active and fabulous after becoming a mom and has been an adventure ever since”. Moms who are actively involved in socializing with other moms (playdates, group activities etc.) Moms who host charity events and auctions, family museum memberships, children involved etiquette courses, Mom is a community volunteer, Moms who expose their child(ren) to a variety of extracurricular activities such as, visual art, foreign language and music or sports, Moms who coach kids teams, Moms familiar with the process of their child interviewing to get into a school and have experienced the torture of waiting for their acceptance letters, Moms who host dinner parties or frequently attend them with friends or Moms who have organized lavish birthday parties for their children. These are just a few examples of the moms we are looking for, for this exciting and fun project. I am looking for an ensemble for this project, so all moms are encouraged to inquire. In theory at least one child in the age range of infancy-8 years of age, however this is not imperative.
Word of mouth is priceless, so feel free to forward my e-mail on to potential moms. The deadline to apply is approaching, so please don’t hesitate to email momsinthecity@aol.com or call me directly 646.320.1790 whether you are nominating someone or considering this fun and fantastic opportunity for yourself and your closest girlfriends.

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month and in memory of her best friend, Hally Lyn, who lost her battle with breast cancer this year, BabyDish creator Stacie Mindich-Jordan designed The “Hally Bag”. Proceeds from the bag will go the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Breast Cancer Research in Massachusetts. The Hally Bag retails for $45, but without the baby stuff so you don’t have to be a mom to enjoy this great bag.
You can order the Hally Bag by emailing your order and inquiries to thehallybagATbabydish.com.

We’re back from our much anticipated Sesame Place trip. It was a lot of fun for the most part. My son’s favorites:
-Elmo’s World: Peek-A-Bug
-Cookie Mountain
-Grover’s World Twirl
-Monster Maze
-The Slide
Least Favorites:
-Elmo’s World: Blast-off (it made his - and my - stomach drop!)
-Rock Around the Block Parade (he loved the characters from afar, but was overwhelmed when they touched him!)
-Breakfast with Elmo (same reason as above)

Tonight, friends and I went to a Bliss Spa event at the W Hotel. It was a lot of fun. We had hand massages, snacks and (they had) “Blisstinis”. We also received some great samples (I happen to love Bliss products) and discounts.
The event was to promote the launch of the W Spa Suites and W’s two new packages: Suite Bliss and Girls Night In. The fourth floor suites are very luxurious and I think that it would be fun to have a Girl’s Night In there where a bunch of girlfriends hang for the evening, watch movies and are treated to “in-suite” spa services. I’m looking forward to the day that my child (and future child) will be old enough for me to hang out with my girlfriends for the weekend.
I also had the chance to speak with the marketing director, Elizabeth. She informed me that Bliss also had a great program for expecting moms, “Baby Me”. You can learn more about that program at http://www.welcometowhotels.com/nycbaby/?IM=SOP_LearnMore_WH_NYBABY_1234_NYC. (Personally, I wouldn’t mind a weekend there before the new baby’s arrival…)
