On Monday, I attended the New York International Gift Fair (NYIGF) to see if there was anything in their “Just Kidstuff®” section that would be interesting. This section was a mix of toys, games, clothing, stuffed animals and more. Following are my top picks:

1. 2 Red Hens: This company has several cute items (diaper bags & accessories). The two things that made this line stand out to me were that 1. They donate a percent of their sales to cervical cancer research (one of their founders is a survivor); and 2. I really like their “Nest Shopping Cart Cover”. They are just cuter and softer than the other covers I’ve seen (but they’re still machine-washable!).

2. Cute-ture: This is a luxury line of products for babies and moms. They offer bedding, clothing, toys and more. I especially fell in love with the FLATOUTbears. They are flat teddy bears made of 100% Australian sheepskin. They are super soft and cuddly. I want one!

3. EGG by susan lazar: They offer a variety of designer gifts (blankets, hats, sweaters, booties, etc.) for moms and babies. I especially liked the “hat and bootie” set which would make a great baby shower or holiday gift.

4. Lucky Wang: They have the most adorable onesies and kimonos for infants to four year olds. (With the Olympics currently being held in China, this is the perfect time to purchase some of their products!)

5. Myself Belts: Why haven’t I heard of these belts before?! These (mom-invented) belts use a one-handed Velcro closure which makes it easy for kids to use the belts by themselves. There are a variety of colors and designs which make these perfect for young kids. (They also have belts for teens and adults, which are especially helpful for people with special needs.)

6. Playful Chef: I really enjoy cooking with my kids, so I was automatically drawn to this line. This company offers cooking products including chef kits, cookbooks and more for kids (3-11 year-olds).

7. Suzibella: This company offers two great products - Keepsake Boxes and the Nappi Sak™. I especially like the Nappi Sak which is a mini diaper carrier. It’s perfect for when your kids are a little older and you don’t need to lug around so much stuff. You can see how the carrier works here.

8. Wry Baby: This company offers a fun line of baby clothes and gifts. Recently, they have added a new organics line. One of the most popular gift sets that they had put together for the Fair included a Wry Baby organic snapsuit along with an organic body wash and lotion set from Bath by Bettijo.

9. Zid Zid Kids: This Moroccan company has some beautiful handmade products. In addition to having great items, this company is focused on being responsible to both the environment and fair trade policies. Their cushions and shoes are especially cute.
