Munchkin Project Pink & Build-a-Bug Review

During Breast Cancer Awareness Month (October), I’ll be highlighting various charitable opportunities to support the cause.
“In 2007, an estimated 178,480 women were diagnosed with breast cancer. That is why Munchkin is playing a small part in the effort to fight breast cancer by promoting early detection, with the Project Pink campaign, which aims to put a spotlight on early cancer prevention, reminding mothers everywhere not to “duck a breast exam.”
This project benefits the Susan G. Komen breast cancer foundation “Komen for the Cure.” The Project Pink program has involved celebrities decorating pink ducks which will then be auctioned on eBay during the month of October, with all proceeds benefiting Susan G. You can also purchase your own duck for $2.99 from the Munchkin website or the following nationwide retailers: Babies R’ Us, Target, Kmart, Meijer, HEB, Fred Meyer, Burlington, Buy Buy Baby, Rite Aid, Longs and Zellers. (They will be available at retail stores late September through October.)
Lastly, you can become involved for free by passing along Munchkin’s “Email a Duck”. You simply “decorate” your own virtual Project Pink duck here and then email it to family and friends. For each emailed duck, Munchkin is donating 5 cents to the Susan G. Komen foundation.
On another note Munchkin has a new One Planet. One Future. initiative which includes a line of nature-inspired toys that help to build a respect for nature in the early stages of children’s lives. This is a very clever toy for an infant all around. The bean bags are colorful, easy to grasp and make delightful sounds.
