ItzaBitza Brings Your Child’s Art To Life

ItzaBitza is a really wonderful new drawing game for kids. My (almost 5 years old) son Michael has wanted to play it every day since we received it to review.

Basically, there are five games, but you have to earn stars in order to unlock all but the first one. There are two main characters that the player can choose to be (a boy or a girl). The player draws various items as asked on the screen. It’s really great because several skills are learned and used. I especially like that drawing is emphasized, because one of the preschool skills that Michael is working on is “creating drawings and pictures to represent a concept”. This helps him to do so in an extra fun way, because the game animates the pictures that are drawn! ItzaBitza also helps with spelling. The screen reads the words to the questions as you point to each word with the computer mouse. Numbers are also addressed (with instructions like “collect 5 rocks”). Lastly, it helps kids with following directions and problem solving. Sometimes they’re told exactly what to do. Other times they’re told the desired result and they have to figure out how to get to it. (I must admit some of the problem solving challenges stumped me!)

ItzaBitza really makes learning concepts fun and practical. If your kids are competitive/like to challenge themselves, they’ll especially like this game. They get stars as rewards for accomplishing various tasks. When they get a certain number of stars, a new game is unlocked to enjoy. In any event, I really recommend this delightful game.

Below is a short demonstration clip:

If you’d like to try the game before buying it you can download a free 2-day trial here. After trying the game, I’m sure that you’ll love it. If so, you can purchase the game by downloading it on ItzaBitza.com or you can purchase a physical copy on Amazon at this link.

  1. We at COMPUTER EXPLORERS have added ItzaBitza to our curriculum library for preschoolers in our classes around the US and internationally. When reviewing the software, I loved it as a kid and wanted to keep making new drawings to animate. I also loved it as a former English teacher in the way that it reinforces reading! Basically … I loved it!
