Pepsi Throwback Giveaway

Have you seen the funky, new Pepsi Throwback television spots? Here’s one below:

This spring, Pepsi and Mountain Dew are being offered in a special retro formula with packaging inspired by the ’60s and ’70s, sweetened with (gasp!) natural sugar. In honor of this promotion, Pepsi is offering one lucky Mom in the City reader a “refreshingly rad retro” throwback package valued at $150. It features the following items:

• Retro Pepsi Tin Lunch Box
• Retro Clock Radio/CD Player
• USB Lava Lamp
• Pepsi Throwback & Mountain Dew Throwback

(FYI: Pepsi Throwback will be available nationwide for about 8 weeks beginning April 20 in 20-oz retro designed single-serve bottles and 12-pack cans.)

    I was born in the early 60’s so growing up I enjoyed the cartoon shows from both decades. Kimba, Speed Racer, Gigantor.

    I loved the glass bottles. I didn’t like them if they broke, but the pop tasted different from a glass bottle.

    My favorite thing about the 70’s – I was a teenager and got my first car – a used Ford Pinto! MAN – I was so proud of that car. That Pinto could really go – as long as you added oil each time you added gasoline – oh yeah, and gas was really, really cheap!!!

    I loved watching all the old sitcoms after school, and when I got older, the midnight movies on TV Saturday night. I’m still a big fan of “Star Wars.” My Calvin Klein jeans that were a little too small, but they were on sale and I convinced my mom to let me have them anyway, because cheap Calvins were the only Calvins I was gonna get!

    The 60’s music is the best that ever was and I don’t think will ever be. I still listen too it gets me moving. Also the TV programs back then are so much

    What I like best is you could walk to a friends without your parents having to worry about you getting kidnapped, you could spend all day with friends swimming and fishing in the creek and your parents knew you’d be just fine, as long as you were home for supper your parents were happy. Things were just simpler!

    My favorite aspect of the 70s was life in general. It was laid back, the music was good, people actually liked each other, you could leave your doors open at night and kids could play outside without parents worrying. Much simpler and much better back then.
