Kidmondo (Mother’s Day Giveaway)

May 30, 2009 by Kimberly · 30 Comments

Have you heard of Kidmondo? It is an online baby journal site that has (deservedly!) been getting great press all over the place. What’s especially great is that the basic online plan (diary, photo and video uploads, growth charts, etc.) is FREE. (They do offer a premium plan for $39 year with even more features – unlimited journals; more space, no ads, etc. for an additional fee.)

What’s new is that parents can turn their online baby journals into personalized physical baby books called Kidbooks. I met Carole Hallac, the lovely co-founder of Kidmondo at a conference late last year and she is giving one lucky Mom in the City reader a voucher for a Kidbook ($50 value )! (You can view a sample of an actual Kidbook at http://kidmondo.com/kidbook/.

  1. What a super cool site. I set up a blog to post pics and movies of my baby to share with my family. But it would be cool to use a site specifically designed for this! I love how the books have height and weight charts and also dental charts! Makes me think I should have paid closer attention to when all those teeth came in!

What a cool idea. Wish I thought out it.

  3. I like the medical journal. I need to have all of my son’s medical history in one spot and that looks like a great feature to help me be organized.

  4. Amy says:

I never update the “real” baby books because I feel pressure to do them “prettily”. With Kidmondo, I just keep a window in Firefox logged in at all times and jot down cute things they do or a milestone moments after it happens. I feel like I’m going to have something very cool to give to my girls when they are older, as well as something for myself to cherish. I also don’t feel like I’m missing things anymore – with my older daughter I slacked off on things like teeth because I was chasing the baby when most of them were coming in. Now I don’t miss anything because it’s so darn easy!

I like that it’s online, so like Amy above, I don’t feel the pressure to keep my own baby book neat and pretty and perfect. I often edit as I type so it’s a pain having to write things out before logging it into the baby book. I wish this were around earlier, although I think it’s still never too late to start, even with a 2yo!

I would choose medical journal to keep track of entire history because I tend to forget many things with two kids.
