It Was All About the Cookies

Last month, I went to a New Balance event at the Lucy Moses School at Kaufman Center. It was to celebrate the launch of their Peanuts kids’ footwear collection that’s being released this fall. I went primarily for two reasons:

1. Isabel Kallman invited me. I really like her and we have a lot of (pre-mom) school and career similarities. (We both went to Columbia. We both worked at Smith Barney.) I had a hunch that she would only host a great event since she is a mom and a business woman. I was right. The time was fun, focused and brief – which is especially great when you have kids with you. On another note, I also like Isabel’s sense of humor. Watch this Peanuts “Hey Ya” YouTube clip that she sent me:

2. I’m nostalgic about Peanuts. My family loves Charlie Brown and Snoopy. My kids have seen most of the classics. I mean Halloween just isn’t Halloween without a showing of It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, is it?

(It was also great to see some of my favorite bloggers who are moms – Amy, Liz, Melissa and Wendy – out interacting with their adorable kids.)

In any event, I’ll write more about the shoes when they’re released in October. Meanwhile, here are a few shots of my kids from the event. Michael enjoyed the music, dancing and playing the musical instruments. Sean, on the other hand, warmed up as the party was ending. For him, it was all about the cookies (they were good!)…
