Yo Gabba Gabba DVD and Book Giveaway

October 26, 2009 by Kimberly · 17 Comments

I must admit that I was annoyed when Yo Gabba Gabba first premiered. DJ Lance with that red outfit kind of freaked me out (not to mention those “I like to dance” kids). Fortunately, the show grew on me, because my kids have enjoyed watching it from the start. The reason that I like the show now is that it is very musical which encourages my kids to get up and dance. Many of the songs also have good messages that are shared in a fun, kid-friendly way. I have used “Party In My Tummy” to encourage my kids to try new foods that they don’t think they will like. “Broccoli wants to go party in your tummy…” (Sometimes it works. Sometimes it doesn’t…oh, well). The dancing kids have even grown on me. (As for DJ Lance…I like him, but that outfit is still weird to me.)

Anyway, I’m excited to share that the show is going on a live tour: YO GABBA GABBA! LIVE: THERE’S A PARTY IN MY CITY. It will start in Los Angeles on November 14 and will also visit New York and Chicago. Tickets are available through ticketmaster.com and YoGabbaGabba.com. (FYI: Children under the age of one get free admittance/are allowed to sit on a parent’s lap.)

Yo Gabba Gabba is also putting out some new items. There’s Yo Gabba Gabba!: Meet My Family, a DVD where Muno’s family is introduced and you also get to meet DJ Lance’s sister.

Then, there are the two items that I’ll be giving away to one Mom in the City reader. First, there is Yo Gabba Gabba: Music Is Awesome which features songs from the show. This is the first Yo Gabba Gabba! CD that was released on October 20th. (I also received a copy of this DVD. I played it and had a dance session with my boys. “Get the Sillies Out” and “Bubbles” are there favorites. I think Bubbles is their favorite, because we get out the bubbles and I blow them while they are dancing around. Anyway, there are 21 songs on the (including the opening and closing theme) on the CD. Then, there is the Christmas in Gabba Land (Yo Gabba Gabba!) book. It’s a little board book that has a space for you to insert your kid’s photo as they look through the pages to see how the various characters work together to celebrate Christmas. (It’s all about decorating the tree and making presents.)

    Hi,
Fortunately, I have a special pumpkin that is in love with all of them. It’s really hard for her to choose one from the other. Every morning, she watches it, as well, before she sleeps. Lucky for me, I have DVR….LOL. It would be a thrilled to win to see her glow with happiness.

  14. Tracy says:

My 2 year old daughter loves Yo Gabba Gabba and says Brobee is her favorite. Her favorite episode is the one with Jack Black and she really like he “Friends” song that they all sing together before he leaves.
The “Don’t be afraid ” song is another good one, if she has a bad dream I can sing that to her and it usually calms her right down.

  15. jennifer says:

“my name is….” is our favorite at my house!

  16. My sons love Brobee. They sing the Yo Gabba Gabba songs all day.
