Favorite Find: MSI and KIDO’Z Computers For Kids

This is the first year that I have seen so many computer options for young kids. Back in August, I attended an event to test out the Disney Netpal by ASUS. That same month, I attended Dell’s “Holidays in August” event where Dell’s new Nickelodeon-branded PC was introduced. Last week, I learned that Israel-based KIDO’Z and MSI have signed an agreement where all MSI All-in-One Series with screen sizes from 20” up to 22″ and all notebooks (Win 7) with screen sizes up to 12″ will now come pre-loaded with the KIDO’Z Operating System in an effort to create (another) personal computer that caters to kids.
Personally, I don’t think that computer use should be a huge part of playtime for young kids. However, there are a lot of fun and educational games and activities online. That is why I’m excited to see that more companies are providing safe, kid-friendly ways for them to access the Internet. I like options. So far, the various kid-focused computers have their pros and cons. What I especially like about this particular collaboration is that parents won’t need an additional children’s operating system since KIDO’Z is pre-installed for them. An added plus is that all upgrades and new versions of KIDO’Z are automatically downloaded by the system.
