Have you heard of Crocktober? I don’t know who actually started it. I just know that many food bloggers use it as an opportunity to share their favorite Crockpot / slow cooker recipes during the month of October
Since I love to use my slow cooker during the fall and winter, I want to share some of my favorite slow cooker dishes too. I especially appreciate that these easy recipes don’t require a lot of “hands-on” time.
The main thing that I have to do is make sure that the slow cooker is actually on. (I’ll admit that I have forgotten to push the start button a couple of times in the past!)
Easy Slow Cooker Recipes
1. Chicken, Spinach and Portobello Soup (or Stew!)
The mushrooms are so “meaty” flavored that you could actually leave out the chicken. I won’t though because “my guys” refuse to eat vegetarian meals.
2. Crazy Easy Crockpot Chicken
This recipe is so simple that I feel a bit embarrassed when people rave about it and ask, “Can I get the recipe?”
3. Crockpot chili: Two-step chicken chili
Since I prefer tomato-based chilies, I love this tomato-based chicken chili recipe.
4. Easy Gluten-Free Slow Cooker Turkey Chili
I thought that my stovetop chili recipe was easy. This gluten-free slow cooker turkey chili is even easier! (I like to make it for large football game-watching gatherings.)
5. Easy Slow Cooker Turkey Legs with Vegetables
Since my family doesn’t really like whole turkeys, I mainly cook turkey legs for Thanksgiving.
6. How to cook black beans in a crockpot
Canned black beans are fine, but I love cooking them in the crockpot best of all. It’s simple and quick (in regards to the actual amount of time that you are handling the beans).
7. “Not Too Salty” Easy Slow Cooker Corned Beef
My chef friend Mike taught me how to make this tender, delicious “not too salty” corned beef.
8. Ribs in Crock Pot Recipe
These ribs are delicious simply with just the pork dry rub mix. Additional barbecue sauce is just a bonus.
9. Slow Cooker Keto Pork Shoulder
I learned how to make this “fall-apart” slow cooker keto pork shoulder recipe from my husband, Reggie. (He can cook and bake several dishes!)
10. Slow-Roasted Chipotle Chicken
I learned this chipotle chicken recipe from Chef Aarón Sanchez at a blogging event.
11. Southern Slow Cooker Black-Eyed Peas Recipe With Bacon
There are a couple of foods that people with southern roots eat on New Year’s Day. This is a simple way to prepare one of them.
As I finish writing this post, I realize that I haven’t shared one of my favorite new slow cooker dishes – salsa chicken. I’ll post it eventually. Meanwhile, you can see my Instagram post about it:
