Michael and I attended the 3rd Annual KidzVuz Holiday Party a few weeks ago. Founded by Nancy Friedman and Rebecca Levey, two of my favorite blogging friends, KidzVuz.com is a safe (moderated for content and safety!) video review sharing site and iOS app for kids ages 7 to 13. Michael has started going on KidzVuz more frequently, so it was great for him to see some of the other kid vloggers at the get-together. There were also a wide variety of cool sponsors. Below are Michael and my favorite picks from the event:
1. Michael enjoyed getting to try out the new HP Stream and HP Stream 7 Tablet. I’m checking to see if Minecraft can be played on the HP Stream. If so, that might be Sean’s birthday gift. Starting at $199, it would be a better deal than the non-Minecraft playing Chromebook that we bought Michael for his 8th birthday.
2. It won’t be out until 2015, but GammaHeroes was Michael’s favorite new app. He didn’t want to put it down.
3. My favorite thing was giving Michael money to donate to the Scary Mommy Thanksgiving Project. (Jill, the founder, was at the event.) My sons get so much, so it’s important for them to also give back!
4. It was cold outside so I especially appreciated the yummy hot chocolate from Keurig
5. Lastly, I always enjoy being introduced to new products. My final pick is a card from Chipped that was included in the gift bag. The greeting card connects to a private mobile page that you can customize for the recipient.
I’m done with blogging/work related parties for the year, so I’m happy that it ended up on a high note at the KidzVuz Holiday Party!
