525,600 Minutes

A friend recently came up to me and said, “Someone (a mutual friend) advised me to get help from you regarding balancing my schedule since I have so much going on. I hear that you are a time management guru.” I laughed and told her that someone had lied to her. I am not a “guru”…and time management is really a bit of a myth. In reality, it is more about self-management based on personal priorities.

The thing that I love about time is that it is democratic. We all have the same 525,600 minutes in a (non-leap) year. We get to choose what we do with ourselves in those minutes to a large degree. As such, I was able to sit down with that friend and help her come up with a schedule that works for her life. Once she became clear about her priorities, it was relatively simple. We needed to delete a couple of things and bunch together some others but we made time for all of her high priority tasks within a given week.

It is my hope that this site will help you to find practical ways to make time to live the life of YOUR dreams…based on YOUR priorities (not mine). In keeping with that hope, I have a question for you: What is YOUR biggest challenge when it comes to time management and productivity? Let me know in the comments or email me directly at kcoleman@wahmtime.com so that I can be sure to address your concerns. Thanks!

I will end this post with a recent musical reminder for us to measure our moments…
