Last Friday, I shared my favorite WAHM blogs and websites. All of those sites share some really great content. When you want more interaction with a variety of WAHMs though, online forums are great resources. Below are my 4 favorite forums for WAHM entrepreneurs to build community and to be a part of a group with similar interests:
1. WAHM.com Forum
I already gave WAHM.com a nod for being one of my favorite WAHM websites. In addition to providing quality content, the site also has an active, free “Forum” section. There, members can promote their businesses and discuss the WAHM lifestyle.
2. Babycenter’s Work at Home Moms (WAHM) Group
I find the questions and answers in this group to be helpful. I must note that it is not as active as some of the other groups. I’m certain that is due (in part) to the fact that it doesn’t allow member advertising, recruiting, website links in messages and such. (Personally, I like that.)
3. CafeMom’s Various Work At Home Moms Groups
CafeMom offers a wide variety of groups for moms on practically every topic – from parenting to lifestyle topics. If you type “wahm” into their “search for a group” search box on the main groups page, then you will find several active WAHM groups from which to choose.
4. Home Based Working Moms (HBWM)
This is a great community for WAHMs who are trying to extend their networks. Basic membership is free, but you can also upgrade to a premium account with additional benefits for an annual fee (currently $49.95/year). The thing that I really like about this site is that members are really encouraged to support one another’s businesses economically.
Those are my top picks. On a related note, I have a tip for you. If you are looking for other communities, groups or boards in your particular niche, I recommend the Omgili Forum Search. It is a wonderful free resource that will connect you with like-minded people.
If I missed your favorite forum, please let me know in the “Comments” section below so that I can go visit it. Thanks!
