School is closed for President’s Week. Likewise, I will be taking the week off from blogging so that I can spend time with “my guys”. I plan on writing about the following things when I return next week:
-The AMAZING Marriage retreat that I went to over Valentine’s Day weekend. There was a lot covered, but the session on “Unshakable Discipline” was the one that stood out the most to me. It was basically about having the discipline to live out your priorities. It was from a Christian perspective and I loved it. If you would like to hear the classes, the audio is online (for free!) on this page.
-The social media panel that I will be speaking on at TIA/Toy Fair tomorrow. It will be a mixture of toy company marketers and bloggers on the panel discussing how we can best work together. It will be interesting to see how it goes. I have some thoughts based on my experiences and those of women whom I really respect in the social media arena that I will share next week.
-Our family’s “mini-trip” to Bear Mountain this week. We will be going away for a couple of days for a nice, little family break. We didn’t go anywhere for Christmas break and Michael kept asking, “When are we going on vacation?” For some reason, he refused to grasp that it can be an extended school vacation and you can still stay at home the entire time(?!) Depending on the weather, I want to do some of the simple fall/winter activities. Most of all, I want my city kids to see some clear, unobstructed sky!
-We are a die-hard Wii family, but we’re excited to go to the Xbox Project Natal preview event to get a sneak peek this week. If it is as cool as it looks (you are the controller!), we just might become a two game system family. See for yourself:
Other than that, there will be doctor’s visits (to get Sean’s medical clearance for his dental surgery next week – yikes!); Sean’s birthday playdate and a family birthday dinner for Sean.
Hmmm. Maybe this isn’t a “break” week after all!
Are you doing anything special during the President’s Week break? Either way, have a great one!
