My regular readers know how much I love cupcakes (baking them, eating them, etc.), so last Wednesday was one especially sweet day thanks to Snapfish and Reynolds.
To my pleasant surprise, Snapfish sent me a box of cupcakes from Georgetown Cupcake in honor of their 10th anniversary. In addition to the design, those cupcakes were so yummy. I shared them with various friends throughout the day and everyone loved them. Anyway, to celebrate being “the world’s #1 online photo and personal publishing service”, Snapfish is hosting a virtual birthday party at www.snapfish.com/birthdaybash through April 10th. There are still a few days lefts, so be sure to check out their special discounts and giveaways. (Don’t you just love it when it is someone else’s party but you get a gift too? I do!)
Later that day, I attended a tea party sponsored by Reynolds. It was in celebration of the launch of Reynolds Baked For You® cupcake liners. It was held at Sweetiepie Restaurant, an adorable (kid-friendly) restaurant with a lovely tea service. I’m a big tea lover, so I was happy to add this to my personal “tea spots” list.
At the lunch, Amy Brachman of Reynolds Baking Cups shared about their new product, Baked For You StayBrite Baking Cups. At first, I didn’t see what was so special about the cups, since there are several different cupcake liners. After seeing a cupcake baked in a regular paper baking cup with a design versus these cups, it was easy to tell the difference. The designs/patterns fade with the regular paper cups. Since the Baked For You cups have foil on the inside coupled with the designer papers on the outside, they don’t fade while the cupcakes are being baked. It’s a simple but very smart change.
I found out a few other helpful tidbits while at the lunch. Reynolds has a really neat Create-A-Cupcake site where you can design your own cupcake online before making the real ones. For true cupcake lovers, there is a wonderful blog called Cupcakes Take The Cake. (Nichelle, one of the co-founders also attended the event. She knows cupcakes!) Lastly, I learned that you don’t need a cupcake/muffin pan in order to bake cupcakes in cupcake paper or foil cups – you can just place them on a regular baking pan. (I never knew that!)
At the end of the event, I was sent home with Karen Tack’s Hello, Cupcake book and box of cupcakes to take home. (The cupcakes were lovely, but I was all “cupcaked out” by that point. My building’s superintendent and his family enjoyed them!)
