My husband and I have been doing pretty well on my (personal) challenge to have at least one kid-free date together each month. Now, I’m upping the ante for the summer. Not only are we going to make an effort to have a kid-free date but also we’re going to try to do something unique/different. We began this past weekend by dropping the kids off and going to visit the International African Arts Festival in Brooklyn. It was hot on Saturday, so we didn’t stay for a super long time, but we saw everything (clothing, home decor, jewelry, beauty products, etc.) and bought some food to go and eat in the shade. The festival ends tomorrow (July 5th), but if you’re in the area, definitely stop by. Here’s a glimpse of what we saw (and what we ate!):
