Now that the holiday giveaways are over (congrats to the winners!), I’m excited that I will actually be able to share a favorite find each day. I will be playing “catch up” from my files for the rest of December and starting fresh in January. My first pick is the Music Together Lullabies CD.
If you live in NYC, you are probably already familiar with Music Together. Taking one of their music classes with your child is practically one of the mom “rites of passage” here. I took Michael to a class when he was younger. He really enjoyed singing, playing the little instruments and moving along with me and the other kids in the class.
Fortunately, even if you can’t take a Music Together class, you can still enjoy the music. That’s where Music Together Lullabies come in. The CD includes 18 lullabies from the various Music Together song collections. They have songs for whenever you are trying to calm your little one down. (I must say that they work equally well at quieting me down too!) Besides the actual songs, which are quite lovely, I really like the booklet that is included with the CD. It provides a little history behind each song and gives you tips regarding various ways to sing the song to or with your child. Now, if only it could help me to sing well. Okay, I know that I’m asking for too much. In any event, this would make a great addition to your (or a friend’s) CD collection. Don’t take my word for it though, you can hear a snippet of each song on the Music Together Lullabies CD here.
Thanks to Music Together for providing the CD to review.
