I had hoped that Good Restaurant NYC was a good brunch spot. It wasn’t…it was GREAT. In December, I was supposed to meet up with a girlfriend for brunch. It was my time to choose a new place, but I really didn’t feel like doing the research. Fortunately, I’m subscribed to an email newsletter put out by Thrillist. It just so happened to include a link to their THE ULTIMATE 2015 NYC BRUNCH GUIDE post the week that I needed to pick a place. Since my personal theme for 2015 is “Do Good”, I decided that we should go there.
It was a splendid choice. My friend and I met at the restaurant on a Saturday at around 2pm and we had a fabulous brunch. The restaurant was a cute, cozy spot with reasonable prices – $27 per person for brunch. (You can see their brunch menu online.) The food was delicious and the service was friendly. Menu standouts included the lemon ricotta pancakes, chicken sausage and the spicy home fries. I also appreciated that the waiter left us alone to chat without interrupting every few minutes to see if we were finished.
Obviously, I highly recommend Good Restaurant NYC. In fact, I suggested the spot the very next day to a group of girlfriends who were looking for a place to eat after church service. Friends and family eat at a lot of places that I recommend, but this was the first time that a couple of them texted me from the restaurant to thank me for the recommendation. One friend even texted me this photo of what she was eating accompanied by a “Yummy☺”:
Good Restaurant NYC – it’s not just good, it’s great! ☺ (Thanks Thrillist for the initial recommendation!)
