As many of you know, my oldest son Michael is a senior this year – a part of the high school class of 2022. Since many of you readers have been with me since he was one, that means many of your teens will be graduating soon also!
Then & Now
Last year, we asked Michael whether or not he wanted to go to college because I reject the assumption that every academically gifted student has to go to college. In this day and age, there are so many different educational options beyond traditional colleges. Since Michael does want to go to college, we are in college prep mode this fall.
I have been keeping track of all the college prep info that Townsend Harris High School has sent out for future reference when Sean is a junior. I love to share what I learn so I set up a FB page (not a new website!) where I’ll be sharing college prep resources and information.
The college prep emails REALLY started pouring in starting back in January of this year which was the second half of Michael’s junior year in high school. If you have (or know) high school juniors or seniors who want to get into a good college, please encourage them to like my “Get Into College NYC” Facebook page to get timely updates.
I will also be sharing the information on this site. Although the information is tailored to NYC families, a lot of the college information applies to most American high school juniors and seniors.
I’m working on a project until the end of this month so I plan to fully start sharing college prep information (along with new recipes!) in October. There are a few time-sensitive college information sessions for students and parents that I don’t want you to miss though…
