To help parents stay informed and make better decisions, I’ll share relevant college prep updates each Friday for the next twelve weeks.

College Prep Friday (10/11/24)
1. High School Partnerships: Many high schools provide free or low-cost college information sessions. Check with your teen’s school. (For instance, Sean’s school offers free sessions from Kweller Prep.)
2. CSS Profile: The CSS Profile is now open. Many colleges use the CSS Profile to award non-federal government financial aid, grants and scholarships.
3. College Programs: Explore college programs that can assist with the college process. (Liberty Partnerships Programs (LPP) offers comprehensive pre-collegiate programs and services with several New York colleges.)
4. Library Resources: Take advantage of college prep resources presented by local libraries. For instance, the Queens Public Library currently has a College Readiness program.
5. College Visits and Fairs: Now is a great time for college visits and fairs. Queens South College Fair (10/23) is an upcoming local college fair.
