If you want to visit any of the popular cultural highlights of Paris on the weekend, I highly recommend that you arrive early and/or buy your tickets in advance. When we arrived at the Musée du Louvre, the largest museum in Paris, there was a super long line. It was so long that my mom decided that she would rather wait outside and people watch rather than wait to buy her ticket. Fortunately, the Paris Office du Tourisme et des Congres had sent complimentary press tickets to both the Louvre and the Orsay to my hotel for me, so I was able to go in the short “ticket holders” line of the glass pyramid entrance.
Before we left for Paris, Michael insisted that I go and see the “Mona Lisa” in Paris…so I did. There was so much to see that I could have easily stayed at the museum a day or more. Alas, my mom was waiting (in the rain!) so I only viewed a very small portion of its collections. I was still impressed…
