Mango Smoothie Recipe

When the National Mango Board asked me to be a part of a sponsored campaign, I immediately knew the recipe that I would make…a mango smoothie! I am not usually hungry in the morning when I wake up. However, I know that breakfast is essential. That is why smoothies are one of my breakfast staples. They are quick to prepare, nutritious and delicious – a powerful combination for the entire family. Equally important, they are super easy to make…so easy that my 5 year-old son Sean can even make them (with a little help).  See…

Along with the delicious taste, I appreciate the fact that just 1 cup of mango is also a healthy (providing 100% of our daily vitamin C), low calorie (100 per cup) smoothie ingredient. If you also want to include vegetables in your smoothie, then you can simply add a cup of spinach or kale. Those are great additions that don’t alter the taste too much. Smoothies are definitely a great way for our entire family to enjoy our fruits and veggies. How do you get your kids to enjoy (or just eat) their fruits and vegetables?

The National Mango Board challenged me to spend a week creating healthier eating and snacking habits for my family. Join the conversation and one of my readers will receive a cookbook and a chance to win a shipment of mangos and $200 gift card to Williams-Sonoma.
