Earlier today I was working on a post for another site regarding top NYC dessert spots. I realized that I haven’t shared my “cake” pick with you here on Foodie City Mom, so I’m sharing it today. It is Make My Cake, a popular Harlem dessert spot. They offer a wide variety of cakes, cupcakes, pies and cheesecakes.
I had visited one of the Harlem locations in the past and found the staff to be warm and welcoming. While the red velvet cake and sweet potato cheesecake get the most positive press (and deservedly so), consider purchasing one of their special occasion cakes for your next event. My friend had ordered her son’s birthday cake (a strawberry shortcake) from Make My Cake. It was delicious…the strawberries were fresh and the cake frosting was light and not overly sweet.
In any event, this spot is definitely worth the uptown travel. (While on their site, I also noted that Make My Cake would be offering a mail order service soon…)
