Orsay Museum

The Musée d’Orsay was our next stop after visiting the Rodin Museum. A former train station, the Orsay’s transformation into a museum is pretty amazing. The décor and art collections are definitely praiseworthy. Although it was free museum day for the national museums, I used my press ticket to get inside so that I would not have to wait in the super-long winding lines for the general public. (Since I’m not a fan of waiting in long lines, I have decided that I will definitely buy passes to the cultural highlights of Paris online beforehand if I ever go to Paris again!)

Once I entered the Orsay, I saw an image that I thought indicated that visitors are not supposed to take pictures inside of the museum. When I saw visitors taking photos anyway, I went to the information desk to ask whether the picture meant no photos or no photos using flash photography (like in the Louvre). Since the answer was “no photos at all”, I took a brief look around the museum and went outside to take photos.

I must say that it was especially lively around this particular museum. The musician and the mime were especially entertaining. In any event, you can get a glimpse of what I experienced in the following pictures…
