A couple of weeks ago, I attended a fun preview event sponsored by Backyard Sports™: Sandlot Sluggers that was hosted by my friend Beth of Role Mommy. I couldn’t stay long because I had company coming over, but all of the kids (and adults!) in attendance seemed to have a great time.
We did have a chance to try out the game. Michael played a bit, but he was distracted by the other games, pinata, and baseball themed food (hot dogs, popcorn and such). To my shame, Sean (my 3 year old) was able to hit more balls than I was when we played one of the batting minigames. Oh, well…

The game was fun and I really liked the graphics. Most of all though, I appreciate the activity tips that are included in the game. They give onscreen tips for kids to help them stay active even while playing the videogame (i.e. “Run around the bases to practice running!!”) Of course a video game isn’t a substitute for playing real baseball, but this comes close.
