St. Patrick’s Day is Sunday, March 17, 2013. While I was growing up, I just remembered to wear green so that I wouldn’t get pinched! Now, I am happy that (in addition to making sure that my sons wear green) I can prepare some special St. Patrick’s Day treats for the boys. My chef friend Mike Petti talked me through how to make a “not too salty” corned beef brisket. I will be sharing that recipe with you later this week. Meanwhile, I wanted to share eight
St. Patrick’s Day Staples: Enjoy these simple St. Paddy’s Day favorites.
1. Cabbage
2. Savory shepherd’s pie (I didn’t know that this was as much of an Irish dish as it is a British one!)
Green Foods: Forget green food dye! All of these recipes are naturally green.
8. Spinach smoothie
If you have a favorite dish that you prepare on St. Patrick’s Day, please share it in the “Comments” section below. Thanks!
