Congrats to the winner: Michelle
Recently, I was sent a The Princess and the Frog: Tiana’s Cookbook: Recipes for Kids (Disney Princess: the Princess and the Frog) with some fun recipes. Since I love cooking with the boys, I made some of the cupcakes with them.
If you want to introduce your kids to New Orleans-style cooking, this is a perfect introduction. Breakfasts, lunches, dinners, desserts and other recipes are inside – including a (relatively) simple recipe for beignets. My favorite recipe section is the “Delicious Dinners” one – it includes classics like “Jammin’ Jambalaya”, “Yumbo Gumbo” and “Duke’s Macaroni and Cheese”. I recommend trying a new recipe each week (since not all of the ingredients are necessarily in your refrigerator and pantry). It is fun to cook (and eat!) together with the kids.
The instructions are simple to follow. The photography is beautiful – some of the food pictures literally made my mouth water – while my kids enjoyed seeing some of the their favorite characters from the movie sprinkled throughout. The difficulty ratings, tips and informational tidbits also combine to make this a great teaching tool for kids.
In addition to the cookbook, I received several other Princess and the Frog themed goodies. For times sake, I gave away some of the items (Princess Tiana doll and a cup and dish set) that I received in my gift box to local Mom in the City readers since I have sons. However, I have kept several items to give away to one of you so that you can cook with your little princess.
The giveaway package includes:
-Princess and the Frog measuring spoons
-A pink ruffled kid’s apron
-A Princess and the Frog green oven mitt
And
-Your own copy of The Princess and the Frog’s “Tiana’s Cookbook Recipes for Kids”
To win the cookbook package, please let me know what food your kid enjoys cooking the most in the “Comments” section by January 15th at noon. Newsletter subscribers receive an additional entry. (Simply indicate that you are one.)
