First of all, I must mention Maria of BSM Media. She just released a new book Mom 3.0. about using new media and technology to market with moms. She’s the perfect person to write such a book, because she did a great job connecting us (the mom bloggers) with Disney Parks in a manner that changed all (without exception) of our perceptions of their brand. (That’s no small feat in less than three days!)
Next, I want to talk about the teamwork amongst the various Disney departments. Their marketing, pr and special events department worked together seamlessly in order to make this weekend beyond memorable. Special thanks go to Michelle (PR), “Super” Sarah (Special Events) and Xiomara (Marketing).
Other notable Disney “cast members” – that’s what they call all of their employees – include Maria, Annette, Leanne, Angel, Michelle, Lara, Sybil, Rilous, Christian, Chefs Jenny and Jonathan, Mark, Carole
Diego and Laura. The thing that really stood out to me the most about the Disney workers was that they were all so passionate about their company and their jobs. Diego and Laura were prime examples of this. Diego is a Disney Imagineer. Basically, his department comes up with the vision and then designs the various park attractions. He had so many stories to share that he could barely eat his lunch! Likewise, we affectionately nicknamed Laura (a current Walt Disney World Moms Panel member who will soon be a part of their Marketing department) Mrs. Disney. To say that she was “biased” was an understatement. She loves herself some Disney!
Last, but definitely not least, I have to mention the nine wonderful mom bloggers whom I was able to share the weekend with:
Felicia from Reign of the Girl-Child
Jennifer from Mom Bloggers Club
“Justice Jones” from MamaLaw
Kristina from Mom on the Rise
Mel from MelADramatic Mommy
Michele from Integrated Mother
Renee from Cutie Booty Cakes
Tanyetta from Days Like These!
