I am usually hesitant to join blog challenges. What can I say? I have commitment issues. I don’t like to start things that I am not going to finish. That is why I wasn’t going to join “The Best of 2009 Blog Challenge”. I changed my mind for several reasons:
1. It’s a 31 day challenge, but you can participate as much/little as you choose.
2. The post can be as short or long as I please. (That’s a relief, because I know myself. I am probably going to do it every day.)
3. Some of my favorite bloggers are participating. (Things are just more fun for me when people that I enjoy are a part of them.)
4. After reading about my ambivalence on twitter, Gwen Bell (the challenge is her brainchild) sent me a message encouraging me to join in. I don’t know Gwen personally, but I respect the positive vibe that she brings to the blogosphere.
and lastly
5. I like to review the year in December anyway, so these are some fun prompts that we can all do together.
All that to say…I’m in. Granted, most of the posts will be short BUT I’m in.
This is today’s topic: Trip. What was your best trip in 2009?
My work and family trip to Disney was the best (by far). Getting there was part of what made it so special. Disney had invited me to come and be the lead blogger for Disney’s Dreamers Academy with Steve Harvey. It was an amazing work opportunity, but I initially turned it down. The Academy was on Valentine’s Day weekend and we already had plans to go on a marriage retreat. I had also just visited the park four months prior for a Walt Disney World Mom Blogger Mixer. I couldn’t form my mouth to tell my family that I was going to Disney twice in such a short span of time without them. After some back and forth negotiations, Disney was gracious enough to allow me to bring my family along as well. I worked really hard for a few days and then I played really hard with my family. We went to all four theme parks in a couple of days. (Not that I would advise you to do so.) From the Academy to the time with my family, it was the best trip ever…or at least for 2009!
How about you? What was your best trip in 2009?
